Dear Parents and Families:

We want to thank our teachers, parents and staff for going above and beyond to ensure that every student is supported in our new learning environments. While we have faced some challenges, no one is more devoted to the future of our students than you. Thank you!

In that same spirit, we are asking for your help.

TONIGHT, please go to our school’s donation site and set up your family’s account. You will then have an opportunity to make your own donation, and to share our fundraiser with your friends and family who live anywhere in the world, via the website. As financial situations may have changed for some people, please note the messages we send are ZERO PRESSURE! They simply invite your friends and family to be a part of our efforts. No pressure, just a celebration of your amazing student!

Please join us: www.stepitupkids.com/FortJenningsMS-HS45844 <-- High School/Middle School

Please join us: www.stepitupkids.com/FortJenningsES45844 <-- Elementary School

We want to make sure our students have the best year possible, but budget cuts and costs to keep our new learning models afloat have left our school with less resources. Some of the most celebrated student-centered programs will be at risk if we don’t come together, as a community, during this fundraising effort.

We need your help to raise money for:

1. Assemblies

2. Field trips

3. Dances

4. Any other extracurricular activities

5. Playground Resurfacing and Painting

6. Author visits

Please know that a donation, no matter how large or small, puts us one step closer to our goal. And while we realize that some friends and family might be donating a little less this year, that’s ok…because EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS!

We are hoping for 100% Golden Ticket participation tonight, to show our students that we see and support their efforts to be awesome!

Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our students

Sincerely

Mr. Langhals and Mr. Dube

Coronavirus: Ohio families to get $300 per child for food due to missed free school meals

Ohio families with children who qualify for free meals at school will receive hundreds of dollars from the federal government this month to spend on food. The goal is to make up for free meals missed this spring, when schools closed for roughly the last 10 weeks of the 2019-20 school year to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Ohio families don’t need to apply to participate in the federal program, called Pandemic EBT. Those who qualify, about 850,000 children statewide, will automatically receive the funds, about $250 million total.

3-16-2020, 2:45 pm - District Update

Dear Parents and Students,

Thank you all for your patience and understanding through this unprecedented time. We will continue to update our school community through this new process: First step - text alert identifying update, Second Step - the alert will provide a link to our homepage “School Closure Update” with full-text update. Updates will be listed in chronological order to provide the most up to date information and details as needed.

Student information:

  • Technology Devices - If you do not have a capable device at home and it is a necessity to complete lessons, please complete the Device Request Form. This link is also being emailed to all students in grades K-8. Grades K-5 will have Chromebooks and grades 6-8 will have their school assigned iPad available for pick up. By filling out the Device Request Form and bringing home a device, parents/guardians are accepting financial responsibility for any loss and/or damage to school devices. If you have not filled out a form prior to arriving at school to pick up a device, you may have to wait while we help those that have already filled out the form.

    • Devices will be available on Tuesday, March 17th at the following times:

      • 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm

      • 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Note: Device pickup will be via drive-through at the main circle drive on the high school side.

  • Lessons and assignments - Some teachers have shared lessons already, but if you have not received any yet, start expecting them on Wednesday, March 19, 2020. Our staff has worked incredibly hard to develop lessons to reinforce materials presently learned and preparing them to learn for the duration of the school closure. Mistakes will be made and time frames will be missed but please help your children put forth their best effort and continue to be flexible. Together we will succeed!

  • School Lunch - details on the “School Closure Update” page. Fort Jennings American Legion will be providing meals during 11:00 - 1:00. Pick up only.

3-16-2020, 2:30 pm - American Legion Lunches for Fort Jennings Students.
